The OBA Heritage Subcommittee is delighted to present an ecotourism walk to be led by Dr. Sidney Cheung (80), Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts, The Chinese University of HK. The outing will cover the Wetlands in Inner Deep Bay and neighboring areas in the 流浮山 area. The route, introduced in Sidney’s recently published book 香港濕地四季遊, will offer participants different disciplines, including the natural sceneries and mangroves, rural community lifestyles and temples, and fish and oyster farms.
Programme: 1:00 pm – gather at Kowloon Tong MTR Station
Bus ride to Yuen Long, commence walk.
Visit 大井吳屋村, fresh water fish farms, HK Wetland Park, oyster farms and end the walk at 流浮山 market. Optional group dinner will follow.
Depart using public transport.
Sidney will guide the group and offer his knowledge of the visited sites.
Walk will take around 3 to 3.5 hours
Reminder: Wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring your own drinks and snacks.
