Dear Fellow Old Boys,
The LSCOBA monthly Happy Hour (cash bar) gathering for Sept is scheduled for 13th Sept (Thurs) and specially for this occasion, Mr. Wong Yen Kit, Principal of LSC, along with 3 Vice Principals will join this gathering. Mr. Wong will have a brief talk about the new 3-3-4 education system and the challenges facing LSC (may include such topics as DSS etc.) in the near future and there will be a Q&A session thereafter.
The second speaker for the evening will be Bro. David Liao. Bro. David, who is from Malaysia, started and is running the La Salle Study Centre (LSSC) in Changjiao, Meizhou in northeastern Guangdong. An OBA delegation (with some LSC teachers and students) visited LSSC last year and we having been supporting Bro. David mission with donations ever since. He wants to meet some of the Old Boys and I invited to the Happy Hour session this Thursday. He will give a brief talk on the latest of LSSC.
Venue is as usual at The China Coast Bar, 3/F Mariners’ Club, Middle Road TST from 6:30pm onwards to about 8:00pm (the talk usually start at 7:00pm). It’s a good chance to get the latest about our school, meet the new school management team and chat with your old school mates in an informal and relax environment. Those who want to stay for dinner can do so in the restaurant on the 2/F after the Happy Hour.
The Annual Swimming Gala of LSC will be held on 28th Sept (Friday) in the school swimming pool. As tradition would have it, the last race of the day will be one between teams of Old Boys, PTA and teachers. We are thus looking for OB swimmers of all ages and ability (as long as you can swim 50 meters). Interested parties can contact Anthony Wong (77) at Email. Those who prefer to stay dry can come to cheer the students and of course, your fellow old boys.
So, please mark your calendar and I hope to see a lot of you at these two events.
