The theme of the LSCOBA Annual Ball 2016 is “Night of the Legends”, where we paid tribute to some of our most outstanding and legendary old boys, who have made tremendous contributions not only to our Alma Mater, but also the community at large. Mr. Cheong-Leen is certainly a walking legend of La Salle. He had been the President of the Association from 1954 to 1957, and up till today, he is still involved in activities of the Association and the school. In preparation for this event, he has given us significant support and valuable advice, which we are much indebted to. Through the example of his life, Hilton demonstrates to us what a true Lasallian should be and how we should make use of any opportunity given, no matter to support the school, the public or our society.

Because of this embedded La Salle Spirit, Hilton devoted most of his time to serving the public. He was the first ever Chinese Chairman of the Urban Council of Hong Kong, and had been a member of the Legislative Council and Housing Authority for 9 and 22 years respectively. Although being half-retired, as Life President of the Hong Kong Civic Association, Hilton is still active in training new blood to serve the community. La Salle is blessed to have such a distinguished alumnus and role model among us. For that, the Old Boys’ Association presented the Distinguished Alumnus Award 2016 to the Hon. Hilton Cheong-Leen as a token of appreciation to his marvelous achievements at the LSCOBA Annual Ball 2016 on December 17, 2016.
