Message from Daniel Wong, LSCOBA President for term 2025-2026 on LSCOBA Express (Summer Edition, 2026)

Dear fellow Old Boys,

As we connect once again through LSCOBA Express, I would like to bring you some highlights on the activities we brought to our members in the first half of 2026.

Spring Dinner 2026: On 20 March 2026, we hosted another successful Spring Dinner at Tack Hsin Restaurant with over 460 participants across 40 tables. The specially organised table for retired teachers received warm appreciation, and we were heartened by signs of renewed connection and goodwill. As Brother Thomas reminded us, let us stand together as we prepare for the College’s 95th Anniversary and look ahead to its Centenary.

On the Other Side of the Harbour: As the Grand Prize winner of the Hong Kong Championship of the BuilDing Our Future Grand Challenge, the College was awarded a one-month advertising campaign featuring a specially designed tram. Proudly displaying our school motto, the tram celebrates 95 years of excellence as we charge towards our Centenary. It quickly became an attraction for passers-by and photographers alike.

To mark this special occasion, the OBA organised a Tram Fun Day, offering Old Boys and their families the opportunity to enjoy exclusive moments aboard this unique tram. As an extension of the initiative, the OBA also commissioned 500 model trams. A portion of these will be donated to the College as commemorative souvenirs, while the remainder will be made available for sale.

The new LSCOBA co-brand credit card with Dah Sing Bank was successfully launched in late March 2026, following the end of our previous partnership. Designed by our talented Creative Team, the card beautifully features both the old and new campuses in an elegant black finish. It preserves most of the previous benefits, including lifelong annual fee waiver, and continues to channel 0.3% of spending back to the College.

To every Old Boy who supported the OBA, attended our events, or contributed in any way — thank you. Your participation and encouragement made this journey meaningful and successful.

Thank you, Lord, for guiding us all. La Salle Never Say Die!

Yours in de La Salle,

Dr. Daniel Wong (99)
