Dear fellow Old Boys,
This edition of LSCOBA Express marks the beginning of the Year of the Horse.
At this special time of year, may I take this opportunity, on behalf of LSCOBA, to wish you and your loved ones good health, happiness, and a prosperous year ahead.
As we connect once again through LSCOBA Express, I am filled with gratitude for the fellowship, service, and achievements that have defined the past months. The second half of 2025 was rich with events that celebrated our heritage, strengthened our professional networks, and deepened our Lasallian mission.
The LSCOBA Gala Dinner 2025, held at the Regent Hotel, was a resounding success, bringing together over 500 participants in warmth and passion. We were honoured by the presence of Mr. Jack So (1964) GBM GBS OBE JP as Guest of Honour, alongside our school leaders and generous donors. Their support made the evening not only memorable but also impactful for our Alma Mater.
We proudly published the Lasallian Digest 2025, continuing a tradition that connects Old Boys through stories and achievements. Equally inspiring was the La Salle College Old Boys’ Concert 2025, which marked our return to AC Hall. The evening brought together orchestras, choirs, and ensembles in a spectacular celebration of music and brotherhood.
Faith and remembrance were also central to our journey. The Remembrance Sunday Service, the LSPS Heritage Walk, and the Requiem Mass each offered solemn opportunities to honour courage, sacrifice, and the enduring Lasallian spirit of prayer. We also celebrated the life of Brother Patrick Tierney through the documentary Stories Untold: Life of Brothers, a moving testament to perseverance and faith that continues to inspire us all.
Among these, we are also actively participating as well as assisting in organising some activities, including health check events, Christian Brothers’ Cup, Camino de La Salle, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Hong Kong Lasallian Mission.
Beyond heritage and faith, our professional networks flourished. The Professional Networks Seminar, the Doctors of La Salle Dinner, and the High Table Dinner of the Legal Network each provided platforms for knowledge sharing and camaraderie. The Alumni Benefits Programme, launched in September, further strengthened ties by supporting alumni businesses and offering lasting value to our members.
Our commitment to nurturing younger Lasallians was clearly demonstrated through the Job Shadowing Programme, which connected over 100 Form 5 students with Old Boys from a wide range of professions, as well as during Form 1 Healthy Lifestyle Week, where Old Boys shared timeless games and enduring values with the new generation.
Fellowship remained at the heart of our community, with vibrant gatherings such as the Happy Hour with other schools’ alumni bodies, young members, and Class Coordinators. Each event strengthened bonds and reminded us of the joy of being together.
As we look ahead to 2026, may we renew our commitment to our Alma Mater, nurture the generations that follow, and faithfully embody the values that unite us as Lasallians. In this spirit, I would like to personally invite you to support our upcoming Spring Dinner on 20 March 2026 by reserving a table or seats through the provided link. At the same time, we are recruiting volunteers and welcoming submissions for Lasallian Digest 2026.
Enjoy this Winter edition of LSCOBA Express, and may it inspire us all to walk together in faith, service, and community.
Yours in de La Salle,
Daniel Wong (1999)
President, La Salle College Old Boys’ Association (2025–2026)
