Message from Daniel Wong, LSCOBA President for term 2024-2025 on LSCOBA Express (January Edition)

Dear fellow Old Boys,

I am delighted to share with you the progress we have made during the first half of the year since taking office. Our vision of engaging with members and the wider Lasallian community has yielded remarkable achievements, thanks to your unwavering support and active participation.

Our initiatives have successfully advanced in several key areas:

  1. Connecting with our overseas brethren
The Global Homecoming Week, held from 30 November to 7 December 2024, was a resounding success, strengthening bonds with our Lasallian family across the globe.
  2. Engaging young Lasallians
We have hosted enriching events such as film-sharing sessions, including Last Dance and Once Upon a Time in HKDSE, and other social gatherings. These activities have provided platforms for our younger members to connect, grow, and engage within the community.
  3. Building family ties among members
The Sports Family Fun Day on 6 October 2024 was a joyous occasion, bringing families together through sports and recreational activities. Our newly inaugurated football field witnessed thrilling matches, while children enjoyed various sports experience sessions.
  4. Linking Lasallians in different professions
We have broadened our professional networks by organising events such as professional dinners and social hours. These gatherings have fostered connections among Old Boys from diverse industries, including medicine, law, dentistry, real estate, and finance.
  5. Modernising membership management
Our efforts to modernise membership processes continue apace. Members can now log in to our new online membership portal. (Note: For first time users, please click here and follow the instructions to gain access to your account.)

In alignment with our vision to honour our shared heritage, we remain committed to preserving Lasallian history for future generations. Part 3 of our documentary series, Stories Untold: Oral History of La Salle, focuses on our Quad Campus and the subsequent SIP (School Improvement Project). It is now available for viewing.

Looking ahead, I am excited to introduce our turf souvenir, made from grass from our old football pitch in methacrylate, now available at our online shop. The proceeds from this and other LSCOBA souvenirs will enhance our support for the Alma Mater.

Finally, please save the date for our first major event of 2025, the OBA Spring Dinner, scheduled for 28 February 2025 (Friday). Details and tickets are available here.

Thank you for your continued dedication and support of the Lasallian community. Together, we will continue to grow and thrive.

Yours in de La Salle,

Daniel Wong (1999)
