Dear all,
To recap what happened in the last 3 years: We defeated DSOBA in the Heritage Cup by 7:2 in the first year. We tied in the second year, under the condition that we had to submit our team list to them in advance, and we won again by 5.5 vs. 2.5 last year!
We heard that they are putting together a very strong team with touring professionals and scratch players! Hence, would keen old boys golfers please raise your hand if you yourself are a good player who would like to join the Team LSCOBA or if you know some fellow old boys who are good in golf. As a reference, we are looking for golfers who are consistently playing 85 or better! Please PM or email to me [email protected].
The golf group, comprising Robert Cheng (75), Thomas Tung (77), Franklin Shum (79), Henry Lam (83), Joe Wan (97) and myself, is now preparing for this year’s Heritage Cup. The event will be held at the Hong Kong Golf Club (HKGC) on Friday, 30 September 2016.
The format for this year:
- 8 flights will be selected for competition and if there are more participants, the additional flights will be played as part of a social game (there is no guarantee that DSOBA have the same number of players beyond the 8 flights).
- Format: All Scramble (with each player having to contribute at least 6 tee shots)
- At least 4 HKGC members from each team.
- Exchange of team list the night before with 1 named reserve player
- No handicap, everyone plays off scratch.
As a tradition, there will be a dinner after the match and prize presentation will take place during the dinner.
For Team LSCOBA, if there are more than 16 registrants, the golf group will have absolute discretion to select the best players to represent the team. The golf group will consider factors such as the player¹s handicap and past and latest performance at our LSCOBA golf tournaments.
We would very much like to continue with our team shirts this year and are seeking sponsors.
