LSCOBA Tennis Open 2004
The first LSCOBA Tennis Open was held on Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Kowloon Tong Club.
14 Old Boys ranging from graduating year 1965 to 1985 participated in the event, including one Old Boy coming all the way from Toronto, Canada.
A first round of matches started immediately after a random draw.
Winners of the first round matches were grouped together to compete in the LSCOBA Tennis Open while losers of the first round matches were grouped together to play in the LSCOBA Tennis Cup.
After two hours of intense tennis ground strokes and volleys, the First Championship of the LSCOBA Tennis Open went to Kelvin Wong (1983) and David Lee (1979). The winners of the LSCOBA went to Sonny Souza (1970) and Gerald Ma (1985 ).
The Tennis event was concluded by a trophy presentation by current LSCOBA Sports Convener, Mr. Henry Chan (1970).
The following statistics were also recorded for those who are keen in the details:
A total of 10 Aces, 45 double faults, 33 unforced errors and two arguments on line calls were recorded.
A total of 100 cans of beers, 20 orders of French flies, 40 pair of chicken wings, 80 sausages, and 8 plates of fried noodles were consumed.
