Invitation to Old Boys to Take Part in the OBA Team
for the Standard Chartered Marathon 2004

In order to promote fellowship among Lasallians of all ages, and to continue the great athletic tradition of La Salle College, LSCOBA is inviting Old Boys to participate as a member of the OBA Team in the prestigious Standard Chartered HK Marathon 2004.

A brand new team jersey is being designed and only OBA members who have joined this team will have the honour to wear it.

In the process of taking part in this meaningful event, OBA members will contribute to the La Salle College Athletics Club (LSCAC), a Sports Club of LSC, established and fully supported by Brother Thomas, LSC's Principal. The Club is also an Associate Member of Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA).

The funds generated on this occasion, after covering administration costs, will be used for the acquisition of new equipment and other training material for students. The LSCAC serves to assist Lasallian athletes in training as well as to provide opportunities for them to compete in open athletic competitions to gain invaluable experience for the Inter-School Athletics Meet and other competitions.

Interested OBA members should first complete the Individual Application Forms of the Standard Chartered HK Marathon which are available at all Standard Chartered Bank branches. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded from http://www.hkmarathon.com. OBA members are free to take part in the Marathon, the Half Marathon or the 10Km Race.

Kindly note that when filling in the forms, for the " ÄÝ ·| ¦W ºÙ Club" section, please insert "La Salle College Athletics Club".

PLEASE NOTE: In the same way as a normal individual participant, OBA members will have to submit the prevailing joining fee with the form to the organisers of the Standard Chartered Marathon.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT the LSCOBA does not guarantee that the competition application will be accepted by the Organisers.

After completing the application to the event's organisers, OBA members can join the OBA Team at a joining fee of HK$200. The amount will cover the team vest and shorts, and after covering any other administration costs, the surplus will be donated to the LSCAC. A financial report of the application of the funds received will be obtainable from the LSCOBA upon written request after the event.

Those Old Boys who have not joined LSCOBA will need to join the OBA as soon as possible. (Application form for joining the OBA can be found by clicking here).

Old Boys may also opt to donate additional amounts when applying to take part in the OBA Team. For Old Boys who are unable to take part in the race but who wish to support the cause financially, they should feel free to make donations. See below for cheque preparation instructions.

After completing the OBA Team Joining Form, the Old Boy should send the form accompanied by a cheque with the appropriate fee made payable to "La Salle College Old Boys' Association Limited". See attached form for instructions.

For pure donation cheques, these should be made payable to "La Salle College Old Boys' Association Limited" and should also be posted to the address above. Please mark "Donation to LSCAC" on the back of the cheque. (Note: Amounts donated are NOT tax deductible.)

Should you have any queries, please feel free to email Clement Chan (87) or call him at 9163-2017.
