LSCOBA 2001 Winter Golf Tournament
The 15th golf outing of the Association was held on 30 November 2001 at Harbour
Plaza Golf Club Dongguan. A total of 30 old boys had signed up but there was
one "no show" in that morning, may be owing to too much alcohol or work the
night before.
We arrived at the club house at about 9:00 a.m., and there was a sumptuous
buffet breakfast waiting for us. It was really heavy by golfers' standard but
we just could not resist the temptation. All then went to the practice range
to warm up before the round.

Warren Wong set a new tournament record by having a gross score of 78, congratulations.
We have also secured the following donations according to the La Salle "local
rules":- Warren Wong (HK$2,750) and Philip Chan (HK$2,500).
Although Paul Wrobel (78) was not too happy that morning 'cause he had injured
his back at the practice range and could not play after trying at the 1st hole,
we saw him smiling again in the afternoon when I (thanks to John Ribeiro (78)
for the reminder) gave him a big surprise by presenting a
"made in China" birthday cake to him with the happy birthday song from all of us.
My heartfelt thanks to Thomas Tung (77) for acting as the official scorer again.
Watch out for the details of our next outing, we are planning an (overseas?)
trip to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our Alma Mater.
