The 11th golf outing of our Association was held on December 10, 1999 at Shenzhen Tycoon Golf Club,
Shenzhen, China. While the Asian PGA Tour golf professionals were fighting for the Omega Asian PGA
Championship at the nearby Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen this week,
34 La Salle old boys golfers were battling for honours in our event.
May be a few years later we have to make sure our event would not clash with the PGA tour calendar
so that the La Salle golfers can excel themselves in both our Association function and the professional
golf circuit.
We had breakfast at the club house before golfing, and a good number of us had to experience the
Chinese (or rather the mainland Chinese) style of management.
I ordered a cup of coffee and when I did not get it after 30 minutes,
I decided to go to the bar and help myself. Some of us even went all the way into the kitchen and
"supervise" the chef to prepare their order. Furthermore, one had to make sure the dish
was taken to the correct table, otherwise it would be taken by someone else in between.
The weather was again very nice, highest sunny day with a gentle breeze at around 22 deg C.

Supplement from Thomas Tung(77):
Our focal point this time belongs to Robert Cheng,
the one who won both the longest drive and shortest pin.
We all listened to his story on our trip back :(
