Preface
I believe that the writings
of St. John Baptist De La Salle are insufficiently known to a wide audience.
With this in mind, I have collected extracts from his writings, one for each
day of the year.
These writings cover an interesting range of topics, from spiritual formation
to classroom behaviour. Although written in an age and culture quite different
from that of today, I believe much of what La Salle wrote is still relevant.
The virtues and values he espoused and their underlying principles seem to me
to be relevant in any age or culture.
While all the excerpts are
taken from La Salle's writings, I have added my own Headings and Scripture quotes.
I hope this book will encourage
more people to get to know La Salle and that his writings will help us all along
our human and spiritual journeys.
