LSC 75th Anniversary Reunion Golf Tournament (Dongguan Mission Hills Golf Club on 6 December 2007)
This was truly a great reunion of the La Salle golfers with a new record number of 63 participants. For the first time in the history of the golf events organized by LSCOBA, we had invited LSC Golf Club to send a school team and 6 current students led by the teacher adviser Mr. Lai Cheong made it to this reunion event.
Other than the School Team, we had an International Team with 17 old boys from various overseas chapters including Edmonton, San Francisco, Shanghai, Singapore, Southern California, Toronto and Vancouver. The Old Boy Parents Team had 11 old boys whose son(s) attended or is/are still attending LSPS/LSC. The remaining 28 old boys formed the HK Team.
The most senior participants were Louis Chan (61) and Stephen Yung (61), both from the Toronto Chapter. The youngest one was Tam Hong Yin (2012), a very promising Form One student playing off a handicap of 11. Other statistics worth mentioning were we had the first father and son competitors in the same tournament, set by Philip Chan (75) and his son Lionel Chan (2009) with a handicap of 5, again the lowest in our history. Not surprisingly, Lionel won the Best Score with a gross 77, also the lowest score since we started our golf event in 1994.
We were graced by Mother Nature again on that day, and everyone was impressed with the superb condition at the Leadbetter Course and the magnificent clubhouse facilities at this largest golf club in the world, which had just hosted the Golf World Cup a few weeks ago. After the round, we all enjoyed the good food, the beer (and the drinks for the boys), the laughs and the camaraderie, as we are all sons of La Salle everyone.
The winners were as follows:

According to the La Salle Golfers "local" rules, Caesar To (83) had made a donation of HK$2,000. Topping this up with the surplus of this event and other donations collected from our friends and fellow old boys (who in return had received our souvenir 75th anniversary golf cap clips and/or golf handbags in appreciation of their kind support), the La Salle Golfers would donate a total sum of HK$30,000 towards the LSC Jubilee Fund through LSCOBA, in the name of the La Salle Golfers and as a sponsor of the Old Campus Model respectively.
I would like to thank Leonard Chu (83) for his generosity in sponsoring the golf shirts for all the participants, and Thomas Tung (77) and Ian Kwok (81) for assisting me in organizing this truly unforgettable event. Needless to say, I have to thank all the participants and the donors for their kind support in making this reunion event a huge success.
