		Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of La Salle College   In order to pay tribute to our alma mater in this her 75th year of continuance, Vancouver Chapter is organizing a Commemoration to be held on the 13th of October. We are fortunate that Brother Thomas has agreed to be present at the celebration, and since it will be his only visit to North America during this Anniversary year, we have extended an invitation to all Chapters to participate in this event. The ceremonies on the 13th will begin at 9:00 am with a mass celebrated at the Church of Canadian Martyrs under the auspices of Father Paul Chu, with a choir of 30 people who will sing in Latin. During the mass Brother Thomas will address the assembly. That evening, a Gala Dinner will take place at the Radisson Hotel to begin at around 6:30 pm.
		Message from the Board of Directors In the Board meeting of 4th October, 2006, the Directors of the Vancouver Chapter of the LSCOBA decided to bring some ?olour?to our website, but rather than undergoing a complete redesign of the website, or any such external cosmetic modifications, we elected to introduce some substance to it.?We are fortunate in that we have in our midst an Old Boy who is a writer by profession and he has agreed to assist by contributing a series of sketches and articles that relate to the La Salle spirit and what it stands for.?However, rather than reflecting the opinions of any one person or small group of persons, these creations will be interactive in that ideas for the subject matter will be solicited from all old boys.?Initially, there are three categories of topics under which any Old Boy can propose material, although this can be broadened to include other themes if sufficient requests are received [+]
		Article of the Month Today we are posting the second in the series of sketches and articles that was announced in October. This particular article is about reminiscing and nostalgia. For this kind of article, help is needed from all OB’s,for example you might send something to the author along these lines: - What you remember the most about the school, i.e. how it looked like,which area you remember most, - Where did you spend the most time, was it the canteen, the playground,the basketball court, the tennis courts. - Where did you go for a cigarette, did you have the first one from a school friend, did you ever get caught and what happened, - Did some school friend bring dirty pictures to show everyone, was it the first time you ever saw a dirty picture, - When was the first time you took part in sports, music, or any other club activities, and what was the most memorable moment in any of those activities, - Did any teacher stand out in your memory, either in a bad way or a good way, who was boring and who was not, did you learn anything from any of them and if so what, ......[+]
		LSC 75th Anniversary Guest Book December 15, 2006 is the day when the anniversary year starts and it will last until December 8, 2007. A site has been set up for this purpose. You are invited to post congratulatory messages for this special 75th Jubilee of our Alma Mater. On December 8, 2007, OBA will present all the messages to the school during the grand dinner. [+]
