Message from the President
September 4, 2001
Dear Lasallians,
I feel very honoured to be elected the 26th President of the La Salle College Old Boys Association. As I am sure you know, I follow a long line of distinguished La Salle alumni who had served as Presidents, and I feel a great challenge ahead of me to live up to their achievements for our school. However, my predecessors, including our immediate past president Mr. William Tong, have all done such great work that will make my job easier as I hobble along.
As one of the 'veterans' on the committee, it is heartening to see a lot of new blood on the Committee who are enthusiastic about helping our old school. From when I first started to serve the Committee 18 years ago, we have come a long way. We now have seven subcommittees looking after various activities, and much closer ties with our overseas chapters with modern computer technology.
In my endeavours to serve La Salle, I will need your support. I look forward to seeing many of you in our functions this year, where we will be marking the 70th Anniversary of La Salle College in Hong Kong in our various activities. We will be looking for new ways to serve our community and the La Salle brotherhood. And I hope we will all remember what the three letters for La Salle College represent:
L for Learning, S for Serving, and C for Caring.
William Yan
LSCOBA President 2001-2002
