Farewell to La Salle Primary Old Building
Formal classes in the present La Salle Primary School building have
wrapped up for another year ... and another era. As the big move into
the new Primary School building gets underway, Lasallians shall take the
opportunity to bid farewell to the old school building.
For those who may not know, the Primary School wing that use to face the
football grounds has already been torn down, and in it's place is a
completely new structure, which will receive all LSPS students for the
September 2002 new school term.
There will be a simple but dignified event for Old Boys to return to the
Primary School Old Building to see her out. This will be on Saturday
July 27, 2002. Lasallians and families will be welcome to return to
the school from 3.00 p.m. onwards to have a last look around and snap
some pictures.
As the sun sets, at about 6.15 p.m., we shall conduct a ceremony at the
present soccer ground (former swimming pool) where everyone can share
their fond memories of happy times gone by in yester-years. This will
be followed by the singing of the school song as the school flag is
lowered for the last time from this building. The wreckers will move in
shortly afterwards.
To help defray expenses for the event, we shall collect small
contributions or donations at the school gate. Come with your camera to
the building where you spent much of your happy childhood for one last
time. All are welcome.
