SPEAKERS

Mr Paul Cheng Ming Fun ¾G©ú°V (1954) was appointed chairman of the board of directors of the Link Management Ltd on April 1, 2005 and has just retired from that position on March 31, 2007. Mr Cheng obtained his MBA from the Wharton Graduate Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and his Bachelor of Arts from Lake Forest College in Illinois. Mr. Cheng's extensive business and political experience include chairmanship of Inchcape Pacific and N.M. Rothschild & Sons (HK) Ltd, as well as membership of the Legislative Council and the Provisional Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Government. Mr Cheng is the only businessman who has chaired both the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He has been steward of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, member of the Preparatory Committee, Preliminary Working Committee for the Preparatory Committee, and a Hong Kong Affairs Advisor. He is a founding member of the Court of the HKUST, and an adjunct professor of its School of Business and Management besides having served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Council of the CUHK. He was knighted by the King of Belgium in 1991, appointed an honorary citizen of Nanjing in 1994, made an non-official Justice of the Peace in 1997, and conferred an honorary fellowship by the HKUST in 2004.

Mr Peter Wong Tung Shun ¤ý¥V³Ó (1970) holds a master's degree in computer science and another master's degree in marketing and finance from the Indiana University of USA. He resigned as chairman of the board of directors of the Link Management Ltd at the same time as he took up a position as an executive director of the HSBC Ltd and General Manager of the HSBC Group. Mr Wong was Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Banks in 2004, and is currently a director of Hang Seng Bank Ltd and HSBC Insurance (Asia-Pacific) Holdings Ltd, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, Chairman of the Financial Services Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, member of the Banking Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, member of the Committee for Poverty Alleviation of the HKSAR Government, a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Chest of Hong Kong, a member of the Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Red Cross, a member of the Council of HKUST and an honorary professor of HKU.
