The first activity of the new OBA term is a Happy Hour gathering on Friday, 25th September, 2009. We are honoured to hold the gathering in the Club Lusitano, the exclusive Portuguese club, located in Duddell Street / Ice House Street, Central.
The invited guests of this gathering are the School Principal, Mr Wong Yen Kit and one of two Vice Principals, Ms Cecilia Tang. The school has an exceptionally busy year ahead of them, and we are very grateful to Mr. Wong and Ms. Tang to take time to meet with old boys to offer first-hand updates of affairs in the school, just as the new school year commences.
Subjects to be covered include:
- An update on the new 3 / 3 / 4 schooling system, ie 3 years junior and 3 years senior schooling in La Salle and 4 years university (there will be no more Form 7 classes after the summer of 2012), and how the school is handling the changes and challenges
- An update on the school~{!&~}s infrastructure projects, including the resurfacing of the track and field and the planned installation of a new air conditioning system, replacing the current 30 years ago unit
- The new Liberal Studies subjects
- How the school is coping with the threat of H1N1 flu
- How can the old boys community contribute back to LSC
- Information on how old boys can arrange to organize class reunions in LSC
The OBA Committee members will also be present to share more on the year~{!&~}s plans and activities; this is the 70th Anniversary of the Association.
Pull a few buddies along, and get an update on what~{!&~}s happening in school. For those who wish to stay behind to continue chatting, a homey Portuguese dinner will follow at a reasonable price.
