History of LSCOBA
Most records of LSC, including records of the Old Boys' Association, were lost during the Second World War. However, in some old Hong Kong newspapers published before and after the war, one can find some records and reports of activities regarding the La Salle Old Boys Association (the former name of the La Salle College Old Boys' Association).
The following are the text of the newspaper articles recovered, shown in chronological order. Anyone who has further information on the Association's history, or any documents you have on hand, please get in touch with the LSCOBA Heritage Sub-Committee Chairman at heritage@lscoba.com.

The Rev. Brother Gerfried, who was [sic], Mr L. Allaye, elected Vice-Chairman, wished the new Association steady growth and remarked on the fact that it owed its existence to the old boys having proposed it themselves, which already was an encouraging sign.
The purposes of the Association are to promote good-fellowship among Old Boys of the College, and to help the school raise funds towards many proposed improvements.
Other elected to hold office were Mr. Stephen Leung, Secretary, Mr. J Kwan, Treasurer, and Messrs. W. Hicks, F. Castro, P. Wrich, Wong Chung-tai, and A. Botelho, Council.

Title: LA SALLE OLD BOYS' ASSCN
Mr F.M. Castro was elected President of the La Salle Old Boys' Association at the first post war meeting held on Thursday at the HK Hotel. (*)
The Rev. Bro Cassian was elected Hon. Chairman, and other officers were appointed as follows: Vice President, P.K. Chan; Secretary, R.A. Castro, Treasurer, A. Barton; Committee, G.L. Fong, A. Sales, S. Leung, J. Gomes.
In the course of a brief speech of welcome to those who attended, Mr F.M. Castro said that several members of the 1941 committee, and many old boys of La Salle died on the battle field in Hong Kong, and I propose that we erect a fitting memorial at the foot of the college statue of St. John Baptist de La Salle to perpetuate the memory of our fallen comrades. It is left to those who survived to live on in the ideals that they so nobly fought for and for which they paid the supreme sacrifice.
Sometime ago there was an advertisement in the newspapers calling for re-registration of the Association. Those who so kindly gave the notice their attention, I would like to thank. I would also like to taken [sic] this opportunity to express our grateful thanks to the one who has always stood by ready and willing to extend the association a helping hand in all things and at all times, the good Rev. Bro Cassian.
Mr Bastro went on to say that an Old Boys' Association is not so much a club for parties, games, debates and the link, but more of a staid group of registered Old Boys holding an occasional social gathering to renew the pleasant and happy comradeship of school days. This could be done over a smoking concert, a lecture by some prominent speaker, and an Annual Dance where the old boys get together with their respective families and friends. And furthermore, of much greater importance, as we grow to be older Old Boys, there may be opportunities to help the younger ones to get a footing in life out of College.
(*) The Hong Kong Hotel was located at the junction of Pedder Street and Des Voeux Road C., Central. Not in Tsim Sha Tsui.
